Well, I am sitting here in my kitchen contemplating if I should write this first blog of my life or go for a short ski up South Meadow Creek in McAllister, Montana. As I look at the Madison Range to the East and the Tobacco Root Range to the West, I can see that the higher elevations are definately getting snow. The valley areas got a skiff last night. The temperatures are so much more mellow than they were over Christmas. It seems that everyone can tolerate the thirties with bundling up too much. The downhill skiers have been enjoying great snow at Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, and Bridger Mountain in Bozeman has new terrain and great snow. I just rediscovered (pardon the pun) Discovery Basin in Ananconda--that is a fun local mountain with cheap lift tickets and long runs.

Since Ennis is about an hour and a half from any downhill skiing, I finally bit the
bullet and purchased some nordic gear. I have quick access to snow from my home in McAllister so it just seems logical to add cross country to my quiver of outdoor pursuits. I like the challenge of going up, but frankly.....coming down terrifies me. I consider myself a very capable downhill skier, but the lack of edges and turning abilities of the light touring skis is frightening......I am out of control. Hopefully, by the spring thaw, I will have more confidence.

Well, I titled this blog about buying and selling real estate in Ennis, Mt. I am a real estate broker in the area and I do have a website: http://www.ennismontanaland.com/ . Feel free to visit it. It is a work in process and I will always be adding and deleting things to make it a more usable resource for those of you who may be in the market to buy or sell. It has a great feature that you can sign up for: Realty Alerts. You can pick the types of properties that you are most interested in and when a price changes or a new property comes on the market, you will recieve an update in you email box. I will never sell your information or even plaster you with emails. I just want to be your agent if you want to purchase or sell property.

I also want to add that the real estate market is showing a great number of unique properties and some incredible pricing. I think that paired with the lowest interest rates in history, this is a great time to be investing in real estate. No one knows if we have hit the coveted "bottom"; it seems we will only know once prices start going up again.

I want to give you a link to a great deal that I think will pencil as an investment. It is a newly renovated 1950's bungalow in lower Ennis. It is a 2BR /1BA home with a mother-in-law (1BR/1BA) in the back. It is charming and it has a great location, close to the river and downtown. You can view it here: http://www.mtlco.com/madison-valley/ennis-montana/property.php?ENNIS-HOME-WITH-RENTAL-UNIT&id=266SOLD.

I think that the ski is calling my name. Thanks for letting me introduce myself.
